Dr. Robyn MacSorley received her Ph.D. in Nursing Education and Administration in 2016 and is employed by the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Nursing in Jackson, Mississippi. As a nurse faculty from 2011 – 2014, Dr. MacSorley facilitated didactic, clinical, skills lab, and simulation education. In 2015, she became the Director of the UMMC School of Nursing Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) in 2018. She coordinates several graduate-level courses, including Nurse Educator courses, where she facilitates simulation module learning. She serves on various school and campus-wide committees, including several interprofessional education committees. She assisted with piloting a National League for Nursing Advancing Care Excellence case in 2022 and has published in several journals including the Journal of Interprofessional Education & Practice. Dr. MacSorley is a member of multiple organizations, including the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation & Learning (INACSL), where she has served on the HomeGrown Solutions committee since 2022, and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Dr. MacSorley’s interests include improving interprofessional collaboration through varied simulation projects and expanding simulation education through the facilitation of learning to improve healthcare in Mississippi.
