Dr. Tracie White is an Assistant Professor, Distance Simulation Coordinator, and RN First Assistant (RNFA) Subspecialty Coordinator. In these roles, she assists in the development and implementation of innovative simulation-based learning experiences and advanced nursing curricula to prepare students for clinical excellence. She was trained in simulation by the Center for Medical Simulation and the UAB Office of Interprofessional Simulation. Her scholarship focuses on the role of simulation in nursing education, including distance-accessible simulation, gamification, and competency-based learning. Dr. White has published on topics such as integrating simulation into Doctor of Nursing Practice projects, leveraging audiovisual feedback to enhance skills, and employing gamification to improve clinical knowledge. Her work has been recognized with grant awards, such as the Educational Transformation Award, which funded the Training of Faculty in Best Practices for Distance Simulation Education. She was also the recipient of the Dean’s Scholar Award and the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation Award for her work in simulation-enhanced education. She has presented at national and international conferences, underscoring her leadership in advancing nursing education.
