Dr. Tiffani Chidume has 24 years of combined experience in nursing education, critical care, emergency nursing, long-term healthcare, and health information technology. Dr. Chidume is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Auburn University College of Nursing as well as the Simulation Center Coordinator. She has worked in healthcare simulation for ten years and holds the following certifications: critical care registered nurse (CCRN-K) alumnus, as a certified healthcare simulation educator-advanced (CHSE-A), and as a certified healthcare simulation operations specialist (CHSOS). She is active in SSH and INACSL, where she serves as a diversity committee member (IncluDE), as well as the Chair of the Nominations and Elections committee (2023-24). Additionally, she serves as an Editor-in-Chief of Nurse critical care and rhythms for StatPearls, an Online learning management system, and publisher of healthcare-related peer-reviewed e-books. She is also a content writer for Healthysimulation.com. Her research interests include simulation methodology, telehealth, virtual reality, fall prevention & awareness in the older adult, interprofessional collaboration and education. Dr. Chidume has a number of publications related to nursing education, critical care, and simulation. Her expertise is in coordinating and designing simulations to meet learner needs and the simulation debriefing. She is interested in advancing the art and science of simulation through research and immersive active learning modalities. Dr. Chidume is the recipient of the 2024 INACSL Academic Excellence Award as well as the 2024 Research Excellence Award.
