Marianne has been married to Marcelo since 1994, and they have built a beautiful life with their three children—Meghan (Milwaukee), Morgan (Casper, WY, moving back soon), and Marek (relocating next year). She is a proud grandmother to Madden (16), Mason (13), and Marlee (11), and adores her twin rescue kittens, Luna and Sol.
After starting her nursing journey as a single mother at 27, Marianne earned her BSN and later completed her MSN while living in Wyoming. Her nursing career began in the ICU at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. She has since held leadership roles in both nursing education and simulation, including service as President of the Wyoming Nurses Association (2020–2024).
Marianne is a Certified Nurse Educator (2019) and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (2022). She has led major initiatives, including the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) accreditation at UW Oshkosh and full endorsement from INACSL in 2023. Her recent projects include a TEACH Innovation Grant focused on telehealth simulation and authorship of multiple policy manuals.
She was recognized as a Phi Theta Kappa Terrific Learning Coach, an American Nurse Advocacy Institute participant, and a Fellow of INACSL. Earlier honors include the Army Spirit of Nursing Award and the North Park College Clinical Excellence Award.
Passionate about experiential learning, Marianne integrates innovation, compassion, and advocacy into her teaching. She enjoys gardening, trail biking, making suncatchers, and cherishing family time
