Amara Holobaugh is a certified master's-prepared nurse educator currently working at the University of Texas at Arlington. She entered the profession in 2013 and spent 11 years practicing in the pediatric hematology and oncology setting. In 2021, she transitioned to a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor position, where she primarily facilitates pediatric simulations and clinical experiences. Amara is undertaking a PhD in nursing studies at the University of Central Florida with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027. Her research focus includes the integration of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, in undergraduate nursing simulation and its effect on learning outcomes and cognitive load. She has collaborated with nurse scientists to analyze research data pertaining to pre-simulation preparation, which has been accepted for a podium presentation at STTI Congress 2025, and a poster presentation at INACSL 2025.
