Joyce Victor, Phd, RN-BC, CHSE-A, is a graduate of NPW-Pittston School of nursing. She has a BSN and MSN, MHA, and MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University. She earned her PhD from Duquesne University School of Nursing and completed the INACSL Research Fellowship in 2024.
Dr. Victor has been the Director of the Clinical and Simulation-Based Learning, and is currently an associate professor, at the Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University. She has been active in the American Heart Association on the local and state level. She is board certified in Professional Development and holds advanced certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE-A) through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Her research trajectory focuses on how academic programs prepare pre-licensure nursing students for entry into practice.
She has published numerous scholarly articles and two books, You're Not Dead 'til I Say You're Dead: A Nurse's Reflections on Death, Dying and the Near-Death Experience, and Creative Teaching Strategies for Prelicensure Nursing Programs.
