Sharon Finn is an instructor at University of Colorado College of Nursing. She has eleven years of experience as a pediatric RN, and three years as a certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner.
She received her BSN from University of Missouri, then worked in Fort Worth, Texas at Cook Children's Medical Center. She worked as a nurse resident on a variety of floors in the hospital, then was an infectious disease/pulmonary nurse, and finished her time there as a diabetes educator. She moved to Colorado in 2019 for the Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. She worked in pediatric triage at a primary care clinic and as adjunct faculty in simulation at CU College of Nursing during this time.
After graduation, she started as full-time clinical education faculty for CU College of Nursing, specializing in pediatric simulation and off-site clinicals and assisting with graduate pediatric nurse practitioner simulations. She received her CHSE during this time, has presented at multiple conferences, and completed her DNP in December of 2024, with a project on continuous glucose monitor use for pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes at the Barbara Davis Center.
She is part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Tomorrow's Leaders Council and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She loves to stay active throughout the community.
