Dr. Sendy Rhone teaches courses in Medical Translation and Interpretation and Spanish Language and Culture. With a background in Hispanic linguistics and as a professional translator and interpreter, Dr. Rhoneās research focuses on Spanish as a heritage language pedagogy, particularly on accent perception and classification/description of heritage speakers. Her other areas of interest are bilingualism, multilingualism, sociolinguistics, language pedagogy, speech perception and phonetic analysis. Dr. Rhone is currently working on medical translation and interpretation pedagogy in collaboration with Dr. Will Benner.
