Jessica L. Skaltsis, DNP, RN, CHSE – Nursing Simulation Expert
Dr. Jessica L. Skaltsis is a leader in healthcare simulation and nursing education. As Simulation Educator Coordinator and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Rhode Island’s College of Nursing, she designs and facilitates high-quality simulation experiences to enhance student learning. She collaborates with faculty to integrate simulation-based methodologies into curricula, ensuring students develop critical clinical skills.
With a DNP in Nurse Executive Leadership, Dr. Skaltsis is dedicated to advancing evidence-based simulation practices. Her research includes disaster simulation and opioid use disorder training, and she leads faculty development workshops on simulation pedagogy. She has also secured grants to integrate wearable technology into healthcare simulation, further enhancing experiential learning.
A member of INACSL, SSH, and ASPE, Dr. Skaltsis stays at the forefront of simulation innovation. Her commitment to immersive, technology-driven education ensures nursing students graduate with confidence, clinical judgment, and hands-on experience, preparing them for complex healthcare environments.
