As a tenured Associate Professor at Baylor University, Dr. Rossler cultivates a spirit of inquiry that continues to influence future healthcare education and research directions. Dr. Rossler’s 30+ years as a Registered Nurse includes comprehensive healthcare experience spanning direct patient care, leadership, and case management and over 18 years of experience in academia. She remains influenced by her early career work as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist in the acute care neurological-neurosurgical and trauma intensive care practice settings. Her nurse educator practice includes expertise in using simulation-based education technology and methodologies to design dynamic teaching-learning experiences for future and current healthcare professionals. Her research focus areas encompass the effectiveness of technology, such as simulators, telehealth, and immersive virtual reality applications, on practice behaviors and interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals. As a member of the Baylor University Defense Team, she collaborates with colleagues to explore the impact of cold-weather environments on the readiness and capabilities of Military Service members. She seeks to advance the pedagogy of simulation as an invited speaker and consultant supporting the use and integration of simulation into practice environments. Scholarships are disseminated globally at conferences, within peer-reviewed journals, and as an invited speaker. She was an inaugural 2016-2017 INACSL Research Fellow and remains active with INACSL in the role of Board of Director. She has attained recognition as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Advanced (CHSE-A) with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and serves on the CHSE Readiness Review Advisory Team.
