Dr. Danielle Coleman is a nurse educator and simulation educator with over 30 years of healthcare experience and more than a decade in nursing education. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Nursing Education in 2020. She is a professor and simulation educator at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL, where she is also a proud alumna.
Her background spans home health, oncology, behavioral health, and burn care, and she has precepted both nursing students and novice nurses throughout her career. A passionate advocate for underrepresented students, Dr. Coleman frequently speaks to K-12 and adult learners about pursuing careers in nursing.
She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Organization for Associate Degree Nursing, and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.
Dr. Coleman has received several honors for her contributions, including the 2020 Prairie State College Faculty of the Year Award, the Illinois Board of Higher Education Nurse Educator Fellowship (2024), and recognition as a Fellow of the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing (2024).
