Melissa Ehmke graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2018 with her DNP in Leadership, and in 2103 with her MSN in Nursing Education. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing in the BJC System. She has over 30 years of experience in multiple areas of healthcare practice, leadership, and educational settings.
Melissa has published in several peer reviewed journals and presented at many conferences. She has a strong background in simulation and educational methodologies, classroom instruction, and clinical practice. Her special interests include women's health, community, and leadership, with an emphasis on the social determinants of health, virtual reality, and competency in simulation. She is currently a member of INACSL and SSH, while also holding a committee governance position in Sigma Theta Tau. Melissa also belongs to the INACSL Research Special Interest Group (SIG) with sub-specializations in virtual poverty simulation, prebriefing, learner competency and outcomes, and evaluation.
