Dr. Semiha Asli Bozkurt is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHS University) and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). She earned her BSN from Hacettepe University and her MSN from Akdeniz University in Türkiye. She completed her Ph.D. in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she also worked as a simulation educator and research assistant.
Dr. Bozkurt has over five years of experience in healthcare and nursing education, focusing on simulation-based education, gamification, and culturally responsive teaching strategies. Her research explores how simulation can teach social determinants of health, promote cultural awareness, and improve communication and clinical judgment among nursing students. She has received several grants and awards, including the Impact Research Grant from AACN, for her work on gamified learning for pressure injury prevention.
Passionate about innovation in nursing education, she actively integrates virtual patients, standardized patients, and immersive simulations into her teaching. Dr. Bozkurt is committed to preparing the next generation of nurses to provide safe, equitable, and compassionate care.
