Lucas Farris, MSN, RN, CNE, is the Simulation Operations and Education Manager at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Smart Hospital. In this role, he manages simulation education development, operational procedures, and faculty development to support the strategic goals of UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI). Before this position, Lucas served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in UTA's Undergraduate Nursing program and taught first-semester nursing students in their first clinical course. Lucas earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UTA in 2020 and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2022. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler, with an expected graduation in 2028. His research areas of interest include mindfulness-based interventions and simulation debriefing, His achievements include receiving the prestigious Herbert C. Buie and Melvina Buie Presidential Scholarship (2024–2025) and the DFW Great 100 Nurse Award (2024). He was also a nominee for the 40 Under 40 Alumni Award and the MSN Graduate Excellence Award at the University of Texas at Tyler.
