Dr. Beena Joseph is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Clinical Learning Coordinator at the Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing, Houston, Texas. She graduated in 2016 with a healthcare system leadership-focused DNP and holds the credentials of DNP(HSL), MSN, RN, RNC-MNN. Dr. Joseph is involved with teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing education and in simulation teaching. She serves on different committees at the college and is also part of the interprofessional education initiatives at the University with Nursing, Medicine, Social Work, Optometry and Pharmacy. Before joining UHCON, Dr. Joseph worked with a major healthcare system in the Greater Houston area and has extensive project management and staff development experience. She has developed and implemented simulation training sessions for the College of Nursing faculty based on a needs assessment done among the faculty related to facilitating a high-fidelity simulation. Dr. Joseph was part of the Faculty Development and Engagement (FED) events at the University of Houston in the Summer of 2020 and offered educational sessions on “Facilitating Virtual Clinicals” along with two other UHCON Colleagues. She has also done several scholarly presentations locally, nationally, and internationally and has been part of several grant applications. . Dr. Joseph has led the Gessner College of Nursing clinical learning team to develop simulation lab policies and achieve the simulation centers at the Gessner College of Nursing accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in 2023. She was a co-presentor at INACSL24 for the presenttaion titled " Lessons Learned during the SSH Simulation Accreditation Journey".
