Professor Arlene de la Rocha is a Registered Nurse Association Ontario (RNAO) leadership award winning educator who teaches in the University of Ontario Institute of Technology/Durham College collaborative Bachelor of Science in nursing program in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Arlene is keenly interested in exploring leadership qualities and caring behaviours through simulated scenarios with BScN students and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) students as they bridge into a degree in nursing. Arlene has been involved in studying student engagement with technology such as high/low fidelity simulation, along with researching the virtual simulation with nursing students enhancing nursing students’ confidence and competence with critical thinking, clinical judgment, problem solving, empathy and ethical nursing care.
