I am a nurse with over 35 years of experience specializing in critical care and case management in rural and frontier settings. My career has included leadership roles in clinical and academic environments, including positions as Hospital Supervisor, Chief Academic Officer, Dean of Nursing, and Director of Nursing. I have taught at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, and advocated for nursing at both state and national levels. I hold a diploma from Nebraska Methodist College, a BSN from the University of Detroit Mercy, an MSN from Regis University—where I embraced servant leadership—and a Ph.D. in Nursing from New Mexico State University, with a focus on health disparities and the underserved. My research interests include effective leadership, mentoring, and workforce belonging.
