Dr. Angela D. Mehringer has 16 years of simulation experience in acute care obstetrics staff education and undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing education. She has been a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator since 2018 and completed a Simulation Certificate from the University of Southern Indiana in 2018. As a Simulation Faculty at the University of Louisville School of Nursing Owensboro BSN Extension, she serves on the SON Simulation Committee and collaborates in the development and presentation of annual simulation faculty development, assessment of faculty simulation education needs, and curricular simulation needs. Dr. Mehringer established multiple simulations in the pediatric undergraduate course, including developing a sickle cell scenario, RSV and apnea scenario, outpatient asthma, and dental health breakout activity, as well as collaboration in creating a culminating capstone simulation. She also participates in the scholarship of simulation through conference presentations and implementation of the 2023 INACSL Debra Spunt Research Grant to examine the effects of implementing a 2:1 clinical to simulation-hour ratio policy.
