Dr. George Tarwater graduated with his BS in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015. He began his MS in nursing education in 2016 and began his career in nursing education as an adjunct clinical instructor for the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Dr. Tarwater began his doctoral education in 2021 and accepted a full time faculty position with the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2022 after maintaining adjunct clinical faculty postings with the university. Dr. Tarwater teaches in the simulation and didactic portions of the curriculum. His specialty in simulation is working in the multi-patient simulation to prepare learners in their final semester to transition to practice as well as design and implementation of specialty simulations including the pediatric/critical care simulation. Dr. Tarwater is interested in continuing his work in simulation focusing on use of simzones and backward design to better prepare simulation curriculum to meet the needs of learners and aid in their transition to practice readiness.
