Jocelyn Ludlow, Ph.D., RN, CNE, CHSE-A, CMSRN has been a nurse since 2000 and a simulation educator since 2009. She has been a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and a Certified Nurse Educator since 2016. In 2021, she received her PhD in nursing from Washington State University where she studied the prebriefing practices of prelicensure nursing programs in the United States. Her expertise has influenced simulation at the national level as a member of the prebriefing and simulation design Healthcare Standards of Best Practice® (HSSOBP®) Subcommittees. She has published and presented at the local and international level on a variety of topics including prebriefing in simulation, psychological safety, in situ simulation programs, and innovations in nurse education.
Dr. Ludlow has been teaching with simulation since 2009. In 2021, she earned her PhD in nursing with a focus on prebriefing in simulation and is a co-author of the newly added HSSOBP® Prebriefing Standard, published in 2021 and updated Design Standard. She is the vice-chair of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Nursing Section and a member of the Western States Simulation Alliance (WSSA) research committee. She has maintained earned her Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification in 2016 and received her CHSE-A in 2024. She also maintains her Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification. She also serves as a peer reviewer for Clinical Simulation in Nursing, Teaching and Learning in Nursing, Nurse Education in Practice, and Nurse Education Today. Jocelyn is a member of ASPE, INACSL, and SSH and more locally the Orange County Lead for the WSSA.
