Nichole Crenshaw is an Assistant Professor of Clinical at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as both an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is also a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. Dr. Crenshaw earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Florida International University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Miami.
Dr. Crenshaw currently practices and has over 25 years of professional clinical experience in acute care. Her expertise is in the management of critically ill patients in intensive care units, specifically cardiothoracic and general surgical.
Dr. Crenshaw is currently the Director for the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Miami and teaches in the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, including simulation and advanced clinical skills.
Dr. Crenshaw has presented regionally, nationally and internationally on topics such as the role of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioners in intensive care units, Simulation and advanced clinical skills, multidrug resistant organisms, antibiograms, antibiotics, mechanical ventilation, heart failure and the management of critically ill patients. She has co-authored published abstracts, posters, and papers on topics such as: Pain management and the opioid epidemic, Central line insertion using animal models, Simulation in a nurse practitioner program to augment student clinical experiences and the Use of ultrasound in the emergency department to screen patients after penetrating trauma.
