Robert Catena received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Albert in 2001. After a short period of working casual in Adult Med/Surg units at the University of Alberta Hospital, Robert made a switch to Pediatric (critical care) Nursing, where he worked at various hospitals in Canada and USA. When Robert returned back to Canada, he settled at the Alberta Children’s Hospital-PICU. Having gained informal and formal leadership experience working within Alberta Health Services and the United Nurses of Alberta. Robert pursued graduate studies in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary, Alberta with a focus on Leadership. Robert began his teaching career in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University in 2013. Scholarship interests that Robert is pursuing are in Leadership, Simulation in Healthcare, and Simulation integration in teaching and learning.
