Dr. Sevilla Bronson, PhD, MSN, APRN, is the Interim Associate Dean for Access, Belonging, and Community Engagement and Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing. She received her MSN in Adult Gerontology from Florida A&M University and later earned her PhD in Nursing with an emphasis in Education and Multicultural Disparities from Barry University. Dr. Bronson has over 20 years of experience in nursing education and leadership. In addition to her current teaching responsibilities, she also facilitates the development of initiatives to both cultivate and synergize an environment of inclusive excellence in the College of Nursing, oversees the operations of the college’s Cares Cupboard, and serves on the Council of Academic Diversity Officers at the University. As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Bronson provided care for her patients in northwest Florida communities and has served as an assistant head nurse, administrator, and legal nurse consultant. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the National League of Nursing, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Her research interests include self-determination and spirituality, homelessness among college students, and simulation.
