Abstract : Writing for publication is an important activity for disseminating important research and innovation work to inform practice and education. It is also an important aspect of work and academic promotion in higher education settings. However, writing for international audiences and being successfully published can be challenging, particularly for novice authors and researchers. This workshop will enable participants to build their skills in successful writing for international publication, with a particular focus on producing simulation-based manuscripts for INACSL’s journal, Clinical Simulation in Nursing. It will take participants through the process of selecting an appropriate journal for the work, using author guidelines, understanding journal audiences, the importance of careful abstract and key word development and precision writing. Finally, it will cover the behind-the-scene processes through which manuscripts go following submission to outcome decisions. Participants will be encouraged to bring along a manuscript under development that can be refined throughout the workshop.
Please include a short summary of your presentation that highlights why an attendee would want to participate in your session.: Participants will acquire skills to enhance preparation of manuscripts for journals and their success.
